Morrison Newsletter 12-17-2013



· Junior High and High School Holiday Concert: Thursday, December 19, from 7 pm to 8 pm
· Santa visits the Kindergarten!: Thursday, December 19 @ 1:15 pm
· NO SCHOOL: Holiday Break, December 23 through January 3.  Merry Christmas and Happy 2014!
· Back to School:  Monday, January 6
· 4H Meeting: Thursday, January 9, @ 5:30 pm in the Methodist Church
· Lost & Found:  Please stop by and check the lost & found box in our foyer.  During the Holiday Break we will be emptying it out and donating everything to the Methodist Church.
· Reminder: Send backpacks and warm clothing with your student every day.  Please dress your child warmly with coats, hats, gloves, etc.
· Open Activity Center @ Baptist Church, started Monday, December 2, after school until 6:00 pm, with supervised activities.
· According to Pizza Hut Corporate Policy, we will no longer be able to host Pizza Hut Book-It parties at school.  Students can still earn FREE pizza rewards for reading and redeem the coupons at Pizza Hut restaurants.
· "Own the Night" Ski Vouchers for sale in the office.  Purchase $8 vouchers for Friday and Saturday night skiing (3-7 pm PST) at Schweitzer Mountain starting December 26—31 and January 3—March 1.  Two Sundays are also available this year: January 19 and February 16.  A great stocking stuffer idea!
· Our interventionist, Ms. Jennifer Higgins, has set up a mentoring program between high school and elementary students. Next, she will broaden this program to involve mentors from the community. As part of our fledgling character education program, several community members were involved in reading to students during Anti-Bullying Week. Community members will continue to be invited to read to students as we implement our character education program. During the month of December, we are targeting the character trait: Kindness. Ms. Higgins has also been working with students and families needing assistance in improving attendance.

WF Morrison News, 12.9.13



· “A Hollywood Christmas” Winter Concert in the Activity Center, is tomorrow night—Tuesday, December 10 @ 6:00 pm.  Your child is welcome to dress like a Hollywood movie star since our students are in the spotlight at the concert.  Students must be there by 5:50 pm.  We are collecting canned food donations during the concert.

WF Morrison News, 11.19.13


Nutcracker Ballet in Libby, Friday, November 22, @ 10 am:  The 4th grade will attend an educational performance at the Memorial Center.  The bus leaves at 9 am and students return to school by lunch.
NO SCHOOL for Thanksgiving:  Wednesday, Thursday & Friday, November 27—29

A great big Morrison Mustang welcome to our new secretary, Ms. Karuzas!  She is new to our school, so let’s help her out with identifying ourselves when calling or visiting the school.
