Morrison News, 11.26.13



· "Own the Night" Ski Vouchers for sale in the office starting today.  Purchase $8 vouchers for Friday and Saturday night skiing (3-7 pm PST) at Schweitzer Mountain starting December 26—31 and January 3—March 1.  Two Sundays are also available this year: January 19 and February 16.  A great stocking stuffer idea!

· NO SCHOOL for Thanksgiving:  Wednesday, Thursday & Friday, November 27—29.   Have a warm, safe and wonderful Thanksgiving!

· City of Troy’s Christmas Kick-Off:  Saturday, November 30: 4:45 pm Caroling, 5:00 pm Games, 7:00 pm for Santa.  Meet at Troy’s Christmas tree by the Post Office!

· Trojan Lanes Youth Bowling Leagues Begin, Come Join the Fun!  (turn over to see details)

· Open Activity Center @ Baptist Church, starting Monday, December 2, after school until 6:00 pm

· 4H Meeting: Thursday, December 5, @ 5:30 pm, Methodist Church

· Going to the Sun Voices Concert Assembly: Friday, December 6, @ 1:15 pm

· 4H Christmas Craft Bazaar: Saturday, December 7 @ Morrison Elementary

· “A Hollywood Christmas” Winter Concert in the Activity Center, Tuesday, December 10 @ 6:00 pm.  Your child is welcome to dress like a Hollywood movie star since our students are in the spotlight at the concert.  Students must be there by 5:50 pm.  We are collecting canned food donations during the concert.

· NO SCHOOL:  Friday, December13

· Any 10, 11, or 12 year old interested in playing on the Kootenai Rapids traveling soccer team are encouraged to contact Mrs. Schertel at the elementary school for more info. Scholarships are available.

Nutcracker Ballet in Libby, Friday, November 22, @ 10 am:  The 4th grade will attend an educational performance at the Memorial Center.  The bus leaves at 9 am and students return to school by lunch.

A great big Morrison Mustang welcome to our new secretary, Ms. Karuzas!  She is new to our school, so let’s help her out with identifying ourselves when calling or visiting the school.

Reminder: Send backpacks and warm clothing with your student every day.

  • Archery starts tomorrow, Thursday, November 7, @ ASP.  Grades 4—6
  • 4H Meeting: Thursday, November 7, 5:30 pm @ Methodist Church
  • Awards Assembly, Friday, November 8 @ 1:15 pm, all families are invited to attend
  • Elementary Food Drive, November 11—15: Let’s help fill up the Food Pantry!  This is a class competition; the class to collect the most items will win a popcorn party for Friday, November 15.
