The 5th & 6th grade Spelling Bee will be held in the HS Auditorium on Thursday, February 2nd at 1:00 pm. Parents are invited to attend.

We’ve extended our deadline….Spirit and Pride orders DUE this Friday, February 3rd.

2nd Quarter Awards Assembly will be held on Friday, February 3rd at 1:30 in the gym

The Junior Cheer Squad will be performing Friday, February 3rd during the Varsity basketball games at the Troy Activity Center. Please be at the games by 4:30 with hair put up and ankle socks with white shoes or as close to white as you can get.

If you need help with transportation, contact Bobbie @ 283-1901 or Heidi @ 295-9738.

We should be finished by 7:30 pm.

5th and 6th grade boys’ & girls’ basketball begins on Monday, February 6th. Practice will be 3:45-5:00 in the elementary gym. Contact coaches Jeff Hawk or Destinie Hammer @

The Missoula Children’s Theatre is coming to town! Auditions for The Little Mermaid will be held on Monday, February 13th in the High School Auditorium.

NO SCHOOL ~ Monday, February 20th

Counselor’s Corner:

· Using the triple T method (Target, Think How, Try Your Best) younger grades have been learning how to achieve their goals. Older grades have been practicing scheduling their “must do’s” and their “want to’s.”

· If your child needs any clothing items, deodorant, or hygiene items, please let me know as I can get them discreetly.

· We are encouraging our students to be Safe, Respectful, and Responsible and to brush and floss every day!

Silverwood “Reading is the Ticket” is in full swing. Parents, please make sure your kids keep track of their at home reading time. Students must read 600 minutes or10 hours before March 21st. If you have any questions, contact Mrs. Downey.

EARLY OUT ~ TOMORROW ~ Wednesday. January 11th

Little Guy Wrestling Pre-Season Training for Kindergarten thru 8th grade starts Wednesday, January 11th, 3:45-5:00, Wed & Fridays in the basement of the Senior Center.

Little Guy Registration will be held on Saturday, January 28th at 2:00 pm in the elementary foyer.

The next ski trip is scheduled for Friday, January 27th. 4-6 grade students will be allowed to go. Permission slips will be available in the office on Monday, January 23rd, money and permission slips due back to the office by Thursday, January 26th. Space available to the first 50.

Dance classes began Monday, January 9th in the Activity Center Dance Room.

Classes are being taught by Marina Navolynski who has 22 years of teaching experience.

The cost is $25 per month.

4-6 year olds: Mondays 4:00-4:45

7-9 year olds: Tuesdays 4-5:00

10 & up: Mondays 5:00-6:00

Text Box: Counselor’s Corner  This week we continue to focus on academics. Kindergarteners are singing songs to help them be better learners. 1st and 2nd graders are making learning books. 3rd-6th graders are playing, “school skills tic tac toe.”  If your child needs personal items, I will be able to procure them discreetly.   We continue to encourage our kids to be safe, respectful, and responsible and to eat lots of veggies!  - Ryan Lieser


The Copper Mountain Band is providing the entertainment at the Relay for Life Kick-Off Party on Sunday, January 22nd, 4-7 pm at the Troy Activity Center. It is a family friendly event including games, karaoke, and concessions. Tickets are $10, (family passes available & cancer survivors are FREE) proceeds to benefit Relay for Life.
